[He can't stop eating it. It's good. It's delicious. And he's barely swallowed before one of his hands reaches through to grip Temenos by the leg of his trousers, suddenly looking both serious and overwhelmed.]
Of course I did. I am certainly no chef, but I wanted to put my love for you into your favorite food.
[It's sappy, he'll admit. Everyone in his traveling group would never let him hear the end of it if they found out. Temenos? Being that mushy? Has he lost his mind??
Sometimes, love comes at you fast and hard and you want to make up for what you couldn't accomplish in the past.
That said, Beelzebub's reaction is nothing like he could have possibly expected. The look of wonder on the demon's face over his cooking is endearing and flattering of course, but as he goes to take a bite of his own half, he's stopped by Beel grabbing onto him so seriously.]
Ah...
[Wow.
The more he blinks in surprise, the redder his face gets.]
[He notices that lilt, the slight choke in the sound that would otherwise be amused. It takes a second to remember what's to come, and that his life could very well be over in the morning.
Maybe he would die happy with this as his last meal.]
It'd be nice. But I'd never be able to spend time with you if that's all you did, would I? [His brow furrows for a second, frowning. Dilemma.] So...
Maybe I can find a chef to keep as a pet. That way, you can enjoy the food, too... when I come back to you.
Haha... True. Feeding you would be a full-time job.
[He means that with all the affection in the world, of course. If it made Beel happy, then he would consider it worth it.
He does like the idea of having more time with Beel better, though.]
While I don't quite think that is how pets work, I would like that. Envisioning myself doing anything else is quite difficult, I admit. Being with you, that is. [He has some things to take care of in Solistia. But once everyone's journey is done...he truly wanted take up permanent residence with Beel.] So I do look forward to it.
It would take some work... Some restaurants don't let me back anymore. I guess it's because they can't keep up with me. [It also might be because he keeps causing property damage.]
But I'd still like to take you to my favorite places. Yuki and Solomon have both helped me find what food is good for humans. So you wouldn't end up poisoned or cursed or dead, so long as I could help it.
It means we have to leave this place first, though. Together.
[For what it's worth, that does bring back some genuine amusement from Temenos. He chuckles, half muffled since he's in the middle of chewing.]
Considering what I have seen you do to the buffet, that doesn't surprise me. I look forward to trying all of your favorites that won't kill me.
[It's such a funny thing to imagine... But it shouldn't come as that much of a surprise that the Devildom isn't exactly a human-friendly place. But if there are humans there already making do, then he certainly can as well.
With that, he nods. That fleeting sorrow returns to the backburner.]
Together. I trust that promise of yours.
[They'll just have to get through some pain first, but it'll be worth it.]
[He lets out an affirmative sound, before leaning his head against one of the bars, watching with silent fondness over the human he loves as he takes of his portion.
Only when Temenos has finished does Beel squeeze that grip against the cleric's leg again, gently.]
[Temenos's eyes meet Beelzebub's on occasion as he's working on his half of the burger, earning a small smile each time. It's hard to describe in words how it feels to be looked at like that. But maybe he doesn't have to. Beelzebub surely understands without either of them having to say anything.
He brushes at the corners of his lips with his thumb to rid himself of any lingering crumbs, then turns his full attention back to Beel.]
Of course. [His answer is the same, as always.] What is it?
[He's not even sure it will work. The connection might not reach across worlds. Temenos's holy connections might tamper with it. And if Temenos himself didn't want it... then there was no point.]
[He nods... and then nods again, as though truly processing how fast that agreement happened took more effort than expected.]
I want to ask for it now. While we have time. But I don't know what it might do to you, though, or to me. And I don't want to send you home to Solistia with my sigil as a target on your back.
But... I want to talk about it. I want to give this to you.
[He's aware it's going to be a serious decision, then. That's good.
He hums his acknowledgement, turning his hand with the palm up so he can take Temenos's touch against his own...
...
After a few moments of silence, his touch shifts, carefully bringing that hand up to his mouth. Not to kiss, but to be held with Temenos's palm facing him, gently nudging the fingers apart with his nose before dragging his tongue up the space between index and middle.
Eyes the color of vibrant dusk stay on Temenos, lidded, craving.]
[He easily lets Beelzebub move his hand...though what ends up happening isn't quite what he expected. He watches in mild surprise before looking up to meet Beel's gaze...
Ah.
He settles into a knowing smirk.]
I take it you'd like seconds? What a coincidence, because I'm still feeling quite peckish myself.
[It's the traces of what's left over from the food, the taste of salt from his sweat, the smell of him... it makes his pulse pound with excitement, which in turn just reminds him of the uncomfortable feeling still settled between his own hips, unresolved and nearly forgotten from earlier. Oh well. Hunger came first. Hunger always came first.
Two of those fingers are guided into his mouth between tongue and teeth, tasting, a gentle gnawing of his bite against the resistance of flesh and bone.]
[It's a little strange to imagine himself having a unique taste, but at least he doesn't have to worry about tasting bad to the one person it matters most. It's surprising, though. He figured he'd be at least a little rotten inside. Maybe there is hope for him yet.
While Beel has his hand, he uses that free thumb to gently rub against his jawline. After savoring the sensation of warm, wet abrasion against his fingers, he drags them forward to give Beel some extra friction as well. They're then slowly pushed back in, pressing along his tongue and trailing against the inside of his cheek on one side.]
[Beelzebub lets out a heated exhale at the change of pressure, eyes screwing shut. There's a growl from the back of his throat as he sucks into the movement of Temenos's fingers as though to draw them deeper, both of his own hands lifting up to cradle the cleric's hand and press into the knuckles and tendons.
It would be so easy to just snap his teeth down, to taste, to chew and swallow and fill his mouth. His teeth dig into the catch of Temenos's knuckles a little harder than before. He wants it. He wants it.

I did. I spent some time scouring cookbooks at the café until I found a suitable recipe. This is the result of a few trial runs.
[He had to eat so many test burgers. He'd have given them to Beel if he didn't want this whole thing to be a surprise.]
1/??
[...
Okay, even for as touched as he feels, he can't ignore the needs of his stomach any longer. So he brings the food to his mouth--]

I...hadn't intended to.
Do you truly like it that much?

[There's an almost disbelieving lilt to the retort, as though it's impossible for him to think that the other option could be feasible.]
What do you mean you're not a chef? If I could eat something like this every day for the rest of my life, I think I'd die happy!
no subject
And yet...there's something broken in the way he laughs. Only if one were to be paying close attention, though.]
Perhaps I have a new job path ahead of me, then. I'll be a very busy man, cooking my beloved Beel's cheeseburgers every day.

Temenos's smile softens. Beel noticed, did he?]

I promise it will be together.

Of course. [His answer is the same, as always.] What is it?

After tomorrow... no matter what happens, or how long it takes to see you again...
When I've come back, I'd like to make a pact with you.
no subject
A pact? You...want to lend me your power in a formal sense?
[If what he was doing wasn't straight-up heresy already, something like this would easily get him executed back home, should anyone find out.
It's making the life choices he needs to make much clearer.]
no subject
If you want it, that is.
[He's not even sure it will work. The connection might not reach across worlds. Temenos's holy connections might tamper with it. And if Temenos himself didn't want it... then there was no point.]

It would be an honor, my dear Beel. I look forward to the day we can forge it.

Still...Beel has some valid concerns about it.]
A cleric making a pact with a demon is the epitome of heresy, but... That is something for me to sort out. I will have a solution when the time comes.
[Little do they know that tomorrow's execution will prove to be a good catalyst for finding that solution...
He reaches over to hold onto Beel's hand.]
I would love nothing more than to share such a connection with you. Thank you for offering it to me.
