Brain injury. He just thinks different. Like part of his brain that's supposed to tell him not to touch a hot stove or something. It just doesn't tell him to stop even if he already knows the stove is hot or if he's in pain.
Yeah I don't think the dungeon being different helped. But it doesn't sound like anything there did anything weird to him - he knew all the monster names he saw and could match them to his injuries when I tried to list them.
He didn't mention glitches. But he might not remember it.
Like I said before, Mithrun very obviously took a potion from Tylor and spoke to him before logging off. Except how could he have even been moving in-game in the first place if he was in the hospital IRL?
Me and Oriade were half-joking about zombies on the forum, but I think it's definitely worse than that.

It was like 10 min before I texted you. I logged off as soon as it went down to send it.
He's been offline since but I am not messing with you Bear. I would not joke about this. He even took a potion from Tylor so he was sort of with it.

FlameMane sent me an email. Looks like she put something on the forums.
I'm reaching out to him now. Hold on.

I talked to him for a while. He cleared some stuff up.
You were right about the pufferfish. Fugu but it was coded all weird. He tried to eat it after.

Wow, seriously?
...
I'd ask why he thought it was a good idea to eat a pufferfish in the first place but I'm honestly not even surprised after the beach party.

Yeah, he's just like that for a lot of stuff. He'd probably put his hand straight into a fire if someone didn't stop him.
He doesn't remember what exactly killed him. The dungeon or the fish. But I think it was the fish.

Also good god he is judging Barrett's not-boyfriend so hard.]
That's...concerning. :/
Anyway I agree on the fish thing. The dungeon probably didn't help if he ran it while all glitched out, though.

[Well now he feels like a massive jackass. Yikes.]
That does explain a lot about him, though... I'll remember that.
Huh. Then yeah, if the monsters themselves were normal and the "blessing" he got at the end of it wasn't weird, it's gotta be the fish.
What an insane series of events, though. I really don't like the idea of rogue code in this game having the ability to put us in a coma or worse.

I don't like it either. If CCCorp comes around and says this was all Morgan's fault just like they did with Shoka, I'm gonna be pissed off.
[smash cut to the email they're gonna get in 24 hours or so RIP.]
I wonder if this is what Lily was talking about. CCCorp trying to find ways to uh. Do whatever it was with people's minds.
[Digitalize human consciousness, is what he means.]

We'll have to see if Lily knows anything next time we see him. It couldn't hurt to ask.

Not a bad idea I guess. Here's hoping he's got something to say about it.
