They've got lots of legs. Are they fast?

Yeah! The Angel made Noodle specially, so Noodle's technically their dog. There's not a lot of dogs with six legs, most only have three or four.

I've never seen one like this. But my brother has a dog that has three heads. They're still good dogs, even with extra parts.

[Pet pet pet... good dog, Noodle.]

Which angel? Do you remember their name?

Nobody knows their name so we just call them The Angel. I'm their assistant and they're my teacher.

[Can't be too old to go to school if you're technically part of the staff.]

You must be pretty special if an angel's watching over you. They can't do that for everybody.

They watch over all the class, but when they can't then it's my job.

[She doesn't think Beelzebub quite gets it but she doesn't know what to do about that.]

Mm. You sound really reliable, if they trust you with that.

[No point in pushing it if she really doesn't know who this entity is that's teaching her. It's not like he's guaranteed to have met them.]

What kind of things do you learn? We have classes, too, but I've had someone say they're pretty different.

We learn all kinds of stuff but I'm not interested in it, I just like the science hour. That's what the Angel teaches and I get to play with Noodle when that happens and Noodle's the secret king of all dogs.

[Nona scratches Noodle's ears as she says this.]

Your teacher lets you play with the dog when you're in class?

Is playing with a dog "science"?

[He's learning a lot today.]

Everything's science. [She says this very proudly like this is an extremely intelligent fact she's learned.]

And the Angel made Noodle using science so it's scientific to take Noodle on lots of walks.

[Hm. He isn't a scientist so he'll just have to take this as fact for now.]

Is it scientific to give Noodle treats?

[Does he even have anything a Noodle would like? Oh well. He could fix that.]

And belly rubs, and chin scritches, and big bones for her to chew on. [She nods repeatedly.]

Oh, Noodle is a girl. Okay.

[Just nodding in return. You're the Noodle expert here, ma'am, he'll defer to you.]

Maybe we can find her some bones while we're here. I usually eat them, but I could try not to. Does she like big ones or little ones?

Noodle's a dog. [Angel always uses he, but dogs don't have gender.]

Normally human bones are the easiest to find where I come from. Something around that size... but I don't know if there's any here.

[gluttoning]

Oh, that's true. Sorry.

[Pet pets the Noodle dog as he thinks.]

I don't think we'll find human bones at a vacation island. Maybe animal bones, though. They might taste a little different than a human.

Is that okay, Noodle?

I think Noodle would be okay with that. Meat is meat and bones are bones, after all.

[She says it so cheerfully but to a normal person, that would be a bit of a weird thing to say!

Nona looks at Noodle and Noodle barks in agreement.]

Noodle says yes.

Mm. Good dog.

I can try to save some bones, then. [Try being the key word.]

Mm. What was your name, again? It's not good to just call you sand girl.

I wouldn't stop anyone from petting Noodle. Noodle deserves to be pet by the whole world.
