[The call is answered almost immediately, though there's a lot of sounds of moving fabric and the crackles of a receiver being tossed about for a second.
There's a muffled voice far in the background of someone that sounds half asleep. Barrett, what the fuck, man--]
Sorry-- [His voice is hushed but firm and urgent when he finally presses the phone close enough to his mouth.] H-hold on. Don't hang up, Morgan, I'm here. Don't hang up. I'll take it outside, Pat, go back to bed.
[There's a groan and some more distant mumbling of displeasure, more sounds of movement - of someone getting up, throwing covers aside, fumbling for something, the faint sound of keys and the click of a door--
The echo of a hallway can be picked up as Barrett keeps his voice quiet, still very audible on the move and a little out of breath.]
( There's not really any sound as Barrett shuffles and moves about, not a sound of confirmation or a person on the other end of the line.
When Barrett addresses him again, the line stays quiet for a few moments still.
Then, finally, there's the sound of him, a little muffled and not up by the receiver - he's probably left his phone on his pillow by his head. )
... Hello...
( His voice is weak and his speech, the way he rounds his vowels and works his way around the consonants, is a little inarticulate. But, he's talking. )
It's always a nice place to move around, he thinks, if not a little medieval looking. But Barrett's main focus is towards getting them to a section that's further away from any other possible occupants, shedding his jacket once they reach an adequately quieter spot.
No PVP, no enemies -- he's not going to bother equipping anything but his weapon right now, the wings at his back buzzing against the open air as he rolls his shoulders.]
I wonder if this place changed, too. You used to be able to spend as much as you wanted here.
[A pause, in which he fiddles with the grip on his lance as he looks towards Morgan.]
( Basque dutifully goes off to the edge of their little section, plopping down to sit on her hind. She remains alert, however - she's got a good intrinsic sense to look after Mithrun. )
I'll have to test this, too. But we'll have our answer if it kicks us out.
( Mithrun leaves on whatever gear he's got as he follows Barrett to the dummies. He reaches for his sword, unsheathing it in an impressive arc. )

I wonder if I could find Faulkner in here somewhere.

Don't answer if you're not feeling okay right now. Or if Cithis or Kabru or someone else is reading this, let it be for right now.
Just let me know if you get this.

9/23 - ΔThrobbing Pulsating Sportsman aka it's just beel really

Hey.
Can you promise me something?
:flushed:
I'll have to test this, too. But we'll have our answer if it kicks us out.
( Mithrun leaves on whatever gear he's got as he follows Barrett to the dummies. He reaches for his sword, unsheathing it in an impressive arc. )
... What is it?
no subject
...A couple things.
I don't... um...
[I don't want to lose you yet.
It sticks in his throat. He swallows it back.]
Swallow wasn't lying. About what will happen.
...So, even if you keep wanting to test things, Morgan, can...
[Can you try to prioritize yourself? Can you try to stay safe?
Can...]
...can you try to keep your HP from falling to zero again?
